Four Reasons Why Your Furnace Is Blowing Out Cold Air

Four Reasons Why Your Furnace Is Blowing Out Cold Air

Broken Thermostat

The thermostat sends a message to the furnace to turn on the blower and burner. If you have a faulty thermostat, most likely it’ll only send the message to turn on the furnace blower and not the burner. So, it might be time to get a new thermostat!

Faulty Circuit Control Board

The brain of the furnace, the circuit control board relays instructions to its various components. If the circuit control board is malfunctioning, it could also turn on the furnace blower, but not the furnace burners. The most common cause of a faulty circuit control board is a lack of cleaning and maintenance, so make sure you do that often! If your furnace is leaking water, that’s an emergency, so call us ASAP!

Ignition Issue

Inside your furnace is small pilot light/electric furnace ignition that ignites the burners. If it’s broken, the burners won’t ignite and your furnace will blow out cold air.

Lack of Fuel

If you have a gas furnace that’s blowing cold air, it could be because of a bad gas valve or lack of gas. Make sure to consistently keep the tank filled so as not to have any problems in the future!
